Solo Concert

In her solo performance – “Roots and Wings” -  Hanikka blends traditional melodies with her own compositions through live looping and improvisation. The performance offers the audience a musical journey where Finnish roots accompany Hanikka as she soars from one continent to another. She uses a variety of flutes from around the world, kantele, jouhikko, and different vocal techniques, ranging from Karelian "kelkettely" to throat singing.
